Cankiri Orta lignite firing thermal power plant

Pöyry awarded consultancy contract for thermal power plant in Turkey

Pöyry's Energy business group has been commissioned by Calik Enerji AS,Turkey, to provide consultancy services for the Cankiri Orta lignite fired thermal power plant.

The value of the assignment amounts to EUR 1.6 million.

The project site is located 100 km north of Ankara.

The project is a mine mouth lignite fired thermal power plant with an approximate electric capacity of 165 MWe.

Pöyry's services include the feasibility study and preparation of EPC bidding documents for two lignite mines and the power plant, technical assistance in EPC contract negotiations, and supervision services at site during the construction.

The project will be completed in October 2009.

Pöyry's sub-consultants are Dolsar Engineering Ltd, the local consultant responsible mainly for the civil engineering part,

and Vattenfall Europe Mining AG for the lignite mining.
